Abstract

The objective of this note is to explore the situation of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) with an anthropological-cultural perspective, highlighting the contrast between the Turkish culture of nomadic origin and the Armenian culture with a settled foundation. It is emphasized that the Turkish nomadic culture maintains a warrior mentality and a desire for dominance, even though the daily life of the Turks is now largely sedentary.

Relevant to understanding the issue is also the persistent expansionist tendency of Turkish culture and its influence on contemporary politics, especially in the context of the recent situation between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. Historical genocides and ethnic cleansings are mentioned, suggesting that these events reflect the conquering and erasing mentality associated with Turkish culture.
